About

Hi everyone, this is Deb Voegeli, owner of  The Red Camel.  I've started this blog to share the information about tribal jewelry and tribal cultures that I've discovered as well as other tidbits that I find interesting and related.  I find it endlessly fascinating.   I've been in this business for over 10 years now and the information keeps building!

I'm discovering though that the blog is not an end in itself but a journey on its own!  I'm not very blog savvy, so I hope you'll bear with me while I figure blogging out!  Every day I find new ways of presenting my posts and rearranging my blog page, so it will probably change repeatedly.

At The Red Camel almost every day presents me with new knowledge about the beautiful items I find, purchase and ultimately offer for sale.  I'll try to share what I learn with you, so you can be as knowledgeable as possible about the jewelry you buy.   I also want to pass on tips on using these pieces to make costuming and I'll try to share some of the other information that might be interesting or relevant to you.

This page is directed, mostly, toward the tribal belly dance community.  But I hope it might also be of interest to those that simply love tribal and ethnic jewelry.

So, put your traveling shoes on and come with me on this journey around the world!
